YMCA Hosts 25th General Assembly

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – March 22, 2025 – The YMCA successfully held its 25th General Assembly Meeting on Saturday, bringing together partners, board members, and community leaders for a day of reflection, transition, and celebration.

The event was honored by the presence of Valerian, Director of EJW-World Service Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, and his team, as well as Mr. Du Prince Tachakote, Treasurer of the YMCA Africa Alliance. Their participation highlighted the organization’s strong regional and international partnerships.

A key highlight of the gathering was the farewell ceremony for six outgoing board members, recognizing their dedication and contributions. At the same time, the organization welcomed six new board members who will help steer the YMCA’s mission forward.

The assembly also featured a showcase from various YMCA branches, where representatives shared updates on their projects and highlighted the impact of their work in local communities. The event was further enriched by cultural performances from the Arat Kilo and Addis Ketema branch youth, who entertained attendees with vibrant music and dance.

The YMCA extended its gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed its commitment to growth and collaboration. As the organization embarks on a new chapter, it looks forward to continued engagement with its partners and members to create lasting social impact.
