Vocational Training

YMCA Ethiopia has made a significant impact in Addis Ababa by establishing Technical and Vocational Training Centers that offer a wide range of courses designed to improve youth employment opportunities. These courses cover various fields such as food preparation, hairdressing, tailoring, metalwork, and basic accounting, ensuring that young individuals gain valuable, practical skills that can increase their chances of securing stable employment. In addition to these vocational courses, we are deeply committed to fostering entrepreneurship among the youth. To support this, we have provided specialized business skills training to over 75 unemployed individuals, equipping them with essential knowledge and strategies for starting and running their own businesses. Recognizing that financial constraints often hinder young entrepreneurs, we also offer startup capital to help ease their journey toward business ownership. So far, 28 young entrepreneurs have successfully received funding to launch their businesses, marking a major achievement in their pursuit of self-sufficiency, economic independence, and sustainable livelihoods. This initiative is a key part of our ongoing efforts to support youth empowerment and contribute to the economic development of the region.
